High Country Trip – Jan 2017

Several members took up the opportunity to do a trip through the iconic Victorian High Country for a week leading up to Australia Day. Others joined them for a four-day weekend taking in the Australia Day public holiday.

Starting out from Broadford, the early-leavers went straight up towards Mt Hotham and out to Blue Rag Range. After soaking in the view, it was down Basalt Knob Track and through the countless river crossings of the Crooked River into Talbotville for the first night.

From Talbotville the crew made their way up Cynthia Range Tk, down Herne Spur and into Wonnangatta Valley. After a stop off at the cemetery, it was up Zeka Spur, Howitt Hut and down to the hut in Macalister River Scenic Reserve for the night.
